A Chicken's Tale
By Locana, 8/25/2007 2:28 PM (PST)

I was hatched Friday, August 24, 2007 on a farm near Michel Delving. My first day was wild. I got chased by an angry wolf while collecting worms for that bitch, Billina. Who does she think she is sending others to do the dirty work?! Next I had to visit some of the surrounding coops, as ordered by Billina, and talk to the chickens there to let them know about the wolf problem in the Shire. They were all such nice chickens, but I couldn't stay long as I had more work to do. Next it was her husband George's turn to boss little old me around. What did I do to deserve this kind of treatment? George was nicer in his requests but he sure had some hard tasks for a newborn chicken. At least he let me choose what order to do them in, that was nice of him. I started by talking to various animals in the Shire. They were all very nice and easy to find. Old Sally could sure use some exercise though. I next chose to talk to the animals in Bree-Land and ask for their help. The first one I visited was this nice cow standing on a roof in Newbury. Poor girl was surrounded by angry Hobbits threatening to pull her tail! I then headed off to Hengstacer Farm in the Horsefields. Along the way a bunch of People stopped to look at me; some even began to follow me around. I guess they never saw a chicken quite like me. The horse I spoke with almost stepped on me, but I am alright. I next had to find a the grey squirrel in Nen Harn, boy was he hard to find. I got attacked by giant turtles and flies and even got chased by some bears and wolves and pigs. Good thing chickens can be reborn relatively fast as those turtles killed me..twice. I finely was able to locate the grey squirrel on August 25, 2007 after talking to the cow, a cat inside Bree (and there were lots in that tiny house too), and the horse.

After my visit with the squirrel, I had to find a Neeker in the Midgewater Marshes. What a scary place that was, but I made it safely and the Neeker was very friendly. Also on this day, some Guardian tried to make me into nuggets, but he could not harm me as I am a nice animal. He followed me until I jumped into the Brandywine River on my way to see that cow again. My next adventure took me to Thrasi's Lodge in Ered Luin. That lynx mother is a very high strung individual, but she was nice nonetheless. That was one of the easiest task I had to do, which was a relief. And a beautiful walk too. After that I went to Evendim to visit a very, very tall Ent. Boy, that was a whole lot of swimming, but it's a pretty place. Next I had to talk to a young Auroch in the Lone Lands. It was scary walking next to all those large creatures, but they were very calm and left me alone. Then I got to visit old Radagast the Brown. He is a very odd man, but he loves animals. Maybe a little too much if you ask me. Walking through that area was quite scary but nothing came after me. The hardest, and final, journey was yet to come-Rivendell. That is a long, long way for a tiny chicken to walk. It is very dangerous too with creatures that can hide from your sight. I made it to outside the pass that leads into the valley and got attacked by a moor stalker; those things are deadly. I died twice is this manner and the second time I was even closer to safety. I decided to try a third time and that time I didn't even make it to the Trollshaws. A Tarkrip spotted me all alone on the road and decided to chop me up. Really all it took was one hit because I am so young and they are so old, but I shall try and try again until I make it. My good friend, Kurgan, contacted her good friend, Winterrose, and asked if she would be willing to escort me to Rivendell. Rose, being the great champion she is, agreed and got me there safely. I am happy to have finished my chores from George and I think he is also happy. Now I am free to roam the countryside.

Tales from the 'Moors

When Kurgan was just 41, she wandered into a new place called the Ettenmoors. Some Sergeant-at-Arms told her to go and speak with someone there, so she did and was rewarded with a Token of Valour. She was running around doing tasks appointed her by the Army in the town of Glan Vraig when all of a sudden some fighter asks Kurgan if she would like to join. Kurgan asked join what, but by that time an invite to the raid had already been given and Kurgan accepted having no clue what was going on. Kurgan ran around with this group and fought a few creeps and NPCs and protected Tol Ascarnen.

Her next venture into the 'Moors was at 50. It's so crowded in there that it's hard to move around and fight so Kurgan would get frustrated. She joined a raid with her mother, Jaadzira, but the crowd was so bad that she decided to leave after a group of wargs attacked and killed her. Kurgan's next adventure in the 'Moors would come several months later when she did an experiment with a friend creep. This creep gave Kurgan her first half-star and almost got her to rank 1. She did not venture back to the 'Moors for another couple of months.

Kurgan returned to the 'Moors with her friend, Gaurien, and has been having fun ever since. Her first day back fighting, she reached rank 1 and almost hit rank 2 in just a few hours. Kurgan got many more kills and killing blows, and only 3 deaths. She had fun dancing with the creeps and teasing them with her lynx. The troll really seemed to dislike Kurgan. As soon as he would appear, she would sic her lynx on him and them drain his power. While fighting the troll (again) at Lugazag, the troll searched through the crowd for Kurgan and once he spotted her he went right at her. The other fighters of the Free Peoples helped Kurgan kill the troll once again. On a funny side note; earlier that nite a freep who shall not be named put another freep on follow. The one that was being followed took the follower to the edge of the TA West bridge and knocked him over. The follower was none to happy; he said "I was on follow!' and he got the general response of 'Don't' from several freeps around.

A couple of days later, Kurgan was back in the 'Moors with her friend fighting a huge, crowded battle. It was mass chaos, but it was fun. She hit rank 2 quite fast, but did not get near rank 3. The creeps seemed to have some animosity towards Kurgan; the wargs found her exceptionally tasty.. The wargs would sneak up on her and stun her, but she could still call for help and sic her lynx on them. She died many times this nite, but it was quite fun. During a battle at Dar-Gazag, she made some creeps angry and they took away her half-star. That's ok, the star means nothing to Kurgan; she's more interested in fighting and gaining ranks.

Nazzir is a Rank 1 Blackarrow. In fact, he just made Rank1 today (12/18/07) after hanging out in Gramsfoot for a few months. The nite started out with a lot of fighting and then it just became a ridiculous Freep gank squad that would try to run at the first site of a real battle. At one point early in the morning their were not many Creeps around, but the Freeps had a ranger or two anyway. Eventually one of the ranger's just started going around picking off any Creep he could find. There weren't even any battles going on, it was just a gank squad of Freeps doing their thing and a ranger doing his thing. Well the ranger's sure had fun killing Nazzir. They did their one-shot kill on him many times. A group of Creeps got payback on one of the Ranger's. Nazzir felt very honoured this nite, too, as he got tracked twice. Nazzir also had several Lore-masters chain mezzing him, which was supposed to be lessened but apparently has not. Anyway, Nazzir would like to extend his thanks to Dioforce for it was the death of Dioforce at Tol Ascarnen that got Nazzir his rank.
